Pasta Bolognese

For dinner tonight I tried out a new pasta recipe and it turned out great!  Plus with the weather getting a bit chilly this hearty pasta turned out great for dinner.  The original recipe I based everything on was from food & wine's website can be found here

1 onion, diced
2 carrots, diced
2 celery, diced
1 pkg ground beef
1 pkg ground pork
2 garlic cloves, diced
3/4 c white wine
2-8 oz tomato sauce
2 tomatoes, diced
2 small bay leaves
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp basil
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Heat oil in large saucepan and add in vegetables.  Cook until softened.  Meanwhile, in a separate large pan heat oil and cook ground meat until just pink.

Combine meat into vegetable mixture, add in wine and cook until almost evaporated about 8 mins. 

Season with salt & pepper, herbs then cover and cook on low for 1 hour.

Cook pasta and serve, enjoy!
